How it works
1. Download the Talk Home App
To know more about how to download the app for your iOS or Android smart phone device, visit here.
Simply enter your mobile number and email address to create an account. To verify your mobile you will be sent an SMS message with a 4 digit pin number you will need to enter to complete your registration.
For National and International calls.
a) Simply click on the 'Call' button on the main dashboard of the App, dial the number you wish to call, click on the dial button to make a call and then select the 'Dial' button. We have already added £1 credit to your account to get you started.
b) If your friends and family have also downloaded the App, then you can make unlimited FREE calls to them by following a) above and selecting the 'Dial Free' button.
When you recommend the App and the App is successfully downloaded and used during a 30 day period, we will top up your account by a further £1.
c) By clicking on the contacts button on the dialer screen you can select a contact saved on your mobile device to make a call. If you see a Talk Home logo next to your contact's name, then you will be able to make free calls to this number.
d) You will need access to Wi-Fi or a 3G/4G connection. If you select to make a free call during a 3G/4G connection, please note that you may be charged by your network service provider.
e) Other Talk Home App users can call you through the App or your mobile device.
You can now send messages.
a) Simply click on the 'Message' button on the main dashboard of the App, click on the contacts button to select who you wish to send your message to, click on the 'Compose Message' button, enter the message you wish to write and click on the 'Send' button.
b) You can then choose to send your message via SMS or a free instant message.
c) When you recommend the App and the App is successfully downloaded and used during a 30 day period, we will top up your account by a further £1.
d) To send a free instant message, all of the contacts you have selected, must be Talk Home App users. You can easily identify which users you can message for free by selecting users who only display a Talk Home logo next to their name.
You can make calls and send messages to other Talk Home app users for free but if the recipient is not a Talk Home app user then calls and messages will be chargeable.
a) Our rates are up to 75% cheaper than our competitors which means we bring you great savings with the added bonus that you are not tied into a 2 year contract or any contract period.
b) You do not need to buy a sim from us. You can use the App as a separate calling and messaging method to your existing device, which may be in a contract with a network provider or on Pay As You Go. There are no restrictions.
c) Many of our customers choose to use the Talk Home App to make calls and send messages as a primary method to save them money.
d) We compare our rates daily to bring you the best rates without you having to shop around and we also bring you high quality voice calls to take the hassle out of buying.
e) If you need to check the cost of a chargeable call or SMS then simply click on the 'Rates' button from the main dashboard, select the country you want to call, to see the cost of calls to landlines and mobiles or the cost of SMS.
If you wish to top up your account balance then you can do this in two ways:
Top Up Vouchers: you can buy a Top Up voucher from a shop wherever you see the voucher signs. Please note that to send a free instant message, all of the contacts you have selected, must be Talk Home App users. You can easily identify which users you can message for free by selecting users who only display a Talk Home logo next to their name.
Make a Payment: on an iOS device you can choose to top up your account by purchasing credit from iTunes. On an Android device or if you purchase credit through the www.talkhomeapp.com, website then you can purchase credit using a debit/credit card or paying through PayPal.
You can control the settings within your App to aid your Talk Home experience. Simply click on 'Settings' within the App to choose your desired settings.
Remember me: You can choose to enable whether you would like the App to remember your login details.
Show last used: You can choose to enable whether you would like to return to the last screen used before you closed down your App.
Alert me: You can choose to be notified if you are using data instead of a Wi-Fi prior to connecting a call.
Data usage: You can choose to enable whether you would like the App to remember your login details.
Balance notifications: You can choose to receive a notification after every call detailing the cost and length of the call and your remaining balance.
Privacy & security: You can choose to log out of your account and clear stored login details, phone and message history.
8. Manage your Account
You can manage your account by using the website or the App.
